The Rail Coal Fire Bistro
Since I started playing Poker at Playground, I often tried different dishes off the menu and was always satisfied. Whether it was bacon and eggs, cheese omelet, French toast, or pancakes it was always prepared beautifully and served on a moveable table that allowed me to continue playing while I ate.
Lunchtime and supper time the menu changed and the table d’hote always offered a good selection of dishes.
When Playground started offering entertainment in the Tent which had been erected to provide additional space for Poker Tournaments, I started taking Shirley with me and thought about having supper with her at the Rail before the show. Unfortunately for us, the line waiting for tables would prevent us from being on time for the show, so we did the next best thing; we sat at the bar and were served quickly and efficiently.
Tonight we allowed time to have supper at the Rail at 5:30 and see the show at 6:45 P.M.
It is no wonder that there are line ups. The food is always fresh, whether it is a pizza, a salad, a Club Sandwich, a burger or a steak (and yes, I have tried them all). The servers are always pleasant and reliable, and the ambiance is most inviting for casual dining.
Our server at supper was Shayne and he was “on the spot” from the moment we were ready to order and never far away when needed for anything. Anything included more water, more coffee, etc. He even had a sense of humour that could tolerate my own.
After the show, we decided a dessert and coffee was in order so where better than the Rail? Here we were served by Morgane who also made us feel right at home and glad we had stopped by.
Whoever trains the staff of the Rail is doing everything right.
